Hot Roman Autumns

The term hot autumn has been used by the Italian press to describe autumns with significant amounts of strikes. Such season of strikes have more often been directed against the government’s budget.
Since 2010 violence often escalated in an uncontrolled way as the governments were introducing tougher austerity measures starting a tense period that some accounts compared, in terms of outrage, to the late 70s.
