The winter of our discontent – a photo essay from behind the barricades

As the Ukrainian government continues arguments about canceling the laws which sparked violent clashes in the streets of Kiev, behind the “enemy lines” people are resting during cease-fire. This is buffer zone between the peaceful protesters and the police lines. Entrance in this zone is strictly limited.

In temperatures that fall as low as 20C degrees below zero now, fatigue, hatred, strong faith and disappointment are in the air.
