Ukraine protest ban sparks clashes

As the EU and US foreign ministers condemned the new draconian law to ban the right to protest across the country, the protest sparked violently in Kiev.

Hundreds of demonstrators marched again on Maidan (Independence) square and battled overnight in temperatures that fell as low as -10C.

While the opposition leaders condemned the attack against the police by thousands of anti-government protesters and the clashes in the center of Kiev, which made nearly 200 injured and continue unabated in the early afternoon yesterday, the former passionary of the orange Revolution adds more fuel to the fire saying that she would fight together with the Ukrainians if only she were free.
